Superiority

Zinc sulfate heptahydrate
Physical properties
CAS No. 7446-20-0
Appearance and traits: colorless orthorhombic crystals, granules or powder, odorless, miso.
Melting point (°C): 100
Relative density (water = 1): 1.957
Boiling point (°C): >500 (decomposition)
Molecular formula: ZnSO4·7H2O
Solubility: Soluble in water.

Chemical properties
Pure zinc sulfate is stored in the air for a long time without yellowing, and is lost to water in a dry air to form a white powder. There are various hydrates: the stable hydrate which is in equilibrium with the aqueous phase in the range of 0-39 ° C is zinc sulfate heptahydrate, zinc sulfate 6 water in 39-60 ° C, and zinc sulfate monohydrate in 60-100 ° C. When heated to 280 ° C, the various hydrates completely lose crystal water, decomposed into zinc oxysulfate at 680 ° C, further decomposed above 750 ° C, and finally decomposed into zinc oxide and sulfur trioxide at around 930 ° C. ZnSO4·7H2O forms a mixed crystal with MSO4·7H2O (M = Mg, Fe, Mn, Co, Ni) within a certain range. It reacts with a base to form a zinc hydroxide precipitate, which reacts with a phosphonium salt to form a barium sulfate precipitate.

Function and use
It is the main raw material for the manufacture of zinc bismuth white and zinc salts. It can also be used as a printing and dyeing mordant, a preservative for wood and leather, and a medical emetic. It can also be used to prevent the disease of fruit tree nurseries and to manufacture cables. It is also an important auxiliary material for the production of viscose and vinylon fibers. In addition, there are applications in the electroplating and electrolysis industries.
